How to allow only people you MENTION to reply to your tweet?

After a recent update on Twitter, it is possible to allow only specific groups of people to reply to a tweet.

1. Create new tweet (on mobile).

2. In the bottom left part of the tweet, there is an option “Everyone can reply”. Tap on it.

3. You will see three options:
– Everyone
– People you follow
– Only people you mention

4. Select “Only people you mention”.

5. After you tweet, you will see a blue box below the tweet. “People you mentioned can reply”. Nobody will be able to reply, if there is no mention of someone.

To allow only people you follow to reply to your tweets

1. Among three options,
– Everyone
– People you follow
– Only people you mention

2. Select “People you follow”.

3. After your tweet is live both people you follow or mention can reply.

So far, many people like these new Twitter updates, as they bring more privacy and give an option to avoid spam/bots.
