How to change X/Twitter APP ICON & NAME? 2 ways

Hi everyone, today we are going to talk about how to change the icon and name of the X/Twitter app. Unfortunately, this functionality is not available for the blue subscription of the app. However, if you have a premium subscription, you can easily change app icons in apps like Snapchat Plus. In the case of X/Twitter app, you can use an app called Shortcuts on iOS.

To change the app icon and name using Shortcuts, follow these steps:

  1. Open Shortcuts, which should be available by default on iOS 14 or later.
  2. Tap the plus icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select "Action Suggestions" and search for "open app".
  4. Choose the Twitter app, which is already renamed to X/Twitter in this case.
  5. Rename the shortcut to easily identify its purpose.
  6. Test the shortcut by tapping the play button in the bottom right corner to ensure it opens the Twitter app.

Next, we need to create a shortcut for this shortcut and change its name. It is important to note that this method will have a small redirect when opening the app.

Follow these additional steps:

  1. Tap on the menu and select "Your Shortcuts".
  2. Tap "Add to Home Screen".
  3. The shortcut will be shown as Twitter, but you can change the icon by selecting a Twitter icon of your choice.
  4. Add the new shortcut to your home screen.

Now, you will have the old Twitter icon and name, but when you tap on it, it will open the X/Twitter app. Although the redirect is quick, you still need to have the old X/Twitter app available. To remove it from your home screen, tap and hold on the app icon, then select "Remove from Home Screen".

If you wish to find the Twitter icon mentioned in this guide, you can refer to the 9to5Mac article where it was originally published. They also offer a selection of Twitter icons for your convenience.

If the above method seems too technical or complicated, there are several third-party apps available that can help you easily replace app icons. One popular option is "Themify", which is both affordable and widely used. With Themify, you can customize your app icons and access various Twitter icon styles. If you want to upgrade, the cost is $20 for a limited time or permanent access.

To create your own Twitter icon using Themify:

  1. Tap on the "Icon Maker" option.
  2. Customize the icon, adding backgrounds or modifying the content.
  3. Search for X/Twitter app and save the icon.
  4. Select the icon you created, install it, and download the profile from the app.

Installing the profile may seem intimidating to some, but it is a straightforward process. Simply tap "Allow" once and then "Install Profile" to automatically install the icon on your home screen. This method eliminates the need to use Shortcuts.

These are two ways to change the X/Twitter app icon to the Twitter icon and easily rename it. Give them a try and let us know if you have any other methods to achieve this in the comments below.
